Facebook and finding a Birth Mom

I've been doing this for a while and have not thought to share it until now. I've found it to be a great way to spread the word that you are looking to adopt.

I am a Facebook-aholic. I'm also addicted to way too many of their dumb games. Well, on a lot of those games there are benefits to adding lots friends (aka strangers) that also play those games. It's hard to explain... On one of my favorites, Restaurant City you need ingredients to make certain dishes. For the first time you visit one of your other friends restaurants (they too have to play RC) you get a free ingredient. (Anyone understand me?) So there are over 100 groups for Restaurant City that you add people as your friends, go to their restaurant and get your free ingredient and then delete them as your friend.

Every time I do this, I always invite everyone to join our adoption group. I've had SOOOO many people join using this way it's crazy. Still no luck on finding our birth mom, but I think it's a great idea! Our FB adoption group now has over 500 people from all over the world!

I'm glad you are doing so much. I don't think we can ever tell too many people we are looking to adopt.

We wanted our family members to put our pass along cards in with their Christmas cards. My grandma said she just needed 10 because she thought it would only make a difference to those people. I was so mad! Put it in EACH card. If it gets thrown away, oh well. But what if it find the right girl? I think there is no such thing as too much effort when it comes to finding.

I've heard of Facebook working for one couple. I hope it works for you too. I know other couples run adds in the side bar. We might try that next year when our contract with Parent Profiles runs out.
