How did the meeting go?

The main thought going through my head during our Team Meeting was “Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry!” I couldn’t look at Braxdon's birth mom “Kim” without welling up. My cousin caught me a trick years ago to bit your tongue to hold back the tears. I was definitely biting hard when our caseworker asked Kim, “What do you think is best for Braxdon?” Her response, “It would be a lot of work to get him back. I could do everything I need to… but I don’t want to mess up again and we’re back here. He’s happy with them, he should stay with them.” Meaning, if you don’t catch my drift…. she wants us to adopt him!!! Yep, I’m crying again!

We’re telling Brad’s family in person this weekend. We made is parents this way cute family tree with everyone’s names out of vinyl. So to announce it, we’re going to add Braxdon to the tree and see if they notice or ask why it’s on there! On my Facebook I added this picture as an announcement-

We’re excited, but it still seems surreal. Court (for mom to relinquish) is next month, so I am kinda holding my breath until court is all said and done!

My fiance and I have been trying unsuccessfully to conceive for over a year now. It gets so frustrating. Finally we decided that maybe we should start looking at other options to become parents, and I came across your blog which just happens to be perfect for my situation. Thank you for all the advice and posts. It's nice to know I'm not alone in my situation and see that there is a silver lining possible after all!

Congratulations! Wishing you a speedy and uneventful finalization! If you get a chance, we'd love to have you share some of your story on the FSA blog. Maybe something for our "Miracle Monday" series? :)
